The best and worst of movie premieres

‘A Quiet Place: Day 1’ leads some of the most appetizing premieres to welcome the 2024 summer season

After passing the halfway point of 2024, it is time to officially welcome summer with The first summer releases of the film season. Among them, prequels to milestones of modern horror and science fiction cinema, epic westerns with a vintage flavor and a handful of crossover stories directed by one of the most special filmmakers of the moment.

But before we go over all the new releases for Friday, June 28 —which have an early release—, let’s take a look at last weekend’s box office, which brought a record under its arm and a tremendously bittersweet taste. ‘Inside Out 2’ mercilessly dominated the national box office with a collection of 6.7 million eurosleaving the rest of the titles in the top 20 a meager 1.27 million euros to share.

The second best positioned film was ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’ with 0.48 million, and the third, fourth and fifth positions were occupied by ‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’, ‘The Watchers’ and ‘Perfect Lives’. ‘ with 0.083, 0.073 and 0.071 million euros respectively. Without a doubt, an indication that the specific success of the animated film is not synonymous with a paradigm shift.
