Last week of June and officially summer. Students are on vacation, many close to taking their holidays and many others dealing with the rising temperatures as best they can. For all of them, the cinema is waiting, with cool air in most cases and above all a billboard full of great titles with which to make the heat more bearable, but also with which to have a fun time. If last week left films like Inside out 2, Memory either Rest in peacethis one comes with new and promising.
Among the new posters we can find the crossed stories of George Lanthimos more acidic -and again with Emma Stone in front -, but also summer dramas with a Catalan accent or Kevin Costner’s return to western more than twenty years after winning the Oscar with Dancing with Wolves. These are just some of the proposals to highlight in a week in which there are also spaces for alien invasions or anime, a genre that has gained more and more strength at the box office and now returns with one of its most illustrious characters, the Detective Conan.
The year started with Emma Stone, Yorgos Lanthimos and his poor creatures, and just a few months after that film that shook the billboards due to its crazy proposal, we already have another one. Again with the same tandem and other old acquaintances from Greek cinema such as Margaret Qualley either Willem Dafoeto which are added Hunter Schafer either Joe Alwyn in this story about kindness through several stories crossed with the most bizarre and uncontrollable characters. Come on, what has been common in the cinema of the author of Canine and Lobster.
There are families that separate over time and are almost impossible to reunite. This has been happening to Montse since she separated from her husband, and so she plans a weekend on the Costa Brava to reunite her large family and strengthen ties with those children she thought she had lost. However, as the weekend begins, a series of events begin to unfold that will put a bit of a complication on her idealistic summer plan. Directed by Dani of the Order (Crazy for her), the film features performances by Enric Auquer, Macarena Garcia, Maria Rodriguez Soto, Alberto San Juan either Emma Vilarasau as the great protagonist.

Since the 90’s series, the Detective Conan He has always been an illustrious and much-loved character in the world of anime, to the point of obtaining his own cinematic adventures. In the latter, titled The Million-dollar Pentagram, The story is set in Hokkaido. A message has arrived from Kaito Kid, warning that he will steal a Japanese sword belonging to the wealthy Onoe family of Hakodate. Conan and Heiji are in the process of capturing Kid, but there is something they don’t quite understand. Why is a jewel collector so interested in that particular sword?
Probably one of the most ambitious projects of recent years -with permission from Francis Ford Coppola and his Megalopolis, Kevin Costner has invested a good part of his fortune in this great film originally conceived in four parts. The first of them now arrives to present a multitude of characters who navigate the old west in the middle of the civil war: a mother and her daughter who lost everything in an Indian attack, a miner who rescues a young woman, an army in search of revenge or a caravan in search of a new settlement.
