The Beach Boys are one of the most famous bands in the history of rock. Formed in California, in the early 60s, they started in surf music and then imposed their own style and also joined psychedelia.
The group created by Brian Wilson gave life to classics like “Surfin’ Safari”, “Califronia girls“, “God Only Knows” either “Good Vibrations” that marked an era. In 1966, the Beach Boys released their album Pet Sounds, where their characteristic vocal harmonies and innovative arrangements influenced a large number of artists, including the Beatles.

A new documentary by The Beach Boys
On May 24, a material that will review its history will premiere on Disney+. “A celebration of the legendary band that revolutionized pop music and the iconic, harmonious sound they created and that embodied the California dream, captivating fans for generations and generations to come,” a statement described.

The health of Brian Wilson, leader of the Beach Boys, and a request from his family
Brian Wilson’s family and managers requested guardianship due to his mental deterioration and the recent death of his wife, Melinda Ledbetter Wilson, who managed his career.
The famous 81-year-old musician reportedly suffers from a neurocognitive disorder and is taking medication for dementia, according to a doctor’s statement filed with the petition in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Brian met his wife Ledbetter when he was a customer at an automobile dealership where she worked in the mid-1980s. By then, Wilson had been under the close supervision of psychologist Dr. Eugene Landy for years.
Ledbetter and others believed Landy was exploiting and mistreating Wilson, and had disputes with Landy for years before he was banned from any contact with Wilson in 1992. His wife died on January 30. “Our five children and I are crying. We are lost,” the musician described on his website. “Melinda was more than my wife.”
