Twenty One Pilots has published Next Semesterthe second single from Clancy, an album that will be available on platforms starting May 17. This song comes after Overcompensate and, after the first listen, it aims to be an anthem at concerts.

The song deals with issues typical of a student, playing with academic terms such as “graduate”, “semester”, “test”… The vocalist wonders if someone is capable of “dying of anxiety”, a feeling that can overwhelm us during the school time, especially if you are a victim of bullying or there is disproportionate pressure on the expectations that your family may have of you.

The music video, directed by Andrew Donoho, puts us in a duo show. Josh Dun plays his favorite instrument, the drums, while Tyler Joseph plays bass to a large group of people. “I really want to sing with all of you,” they expressed on social networks.

The song, which is very catchy thanks to the garage rock sound, talks about the possibility of starting from scratch fresh start), but we do not know if on this level of reality. This single also deals with an issue as serious as suicide. “I remember certain things. What I was wearing, broken lines on the street, I prayed that those lights would take me home… Then, I heard: Hey, boy! Get off the road!” goes the chorus, which tells us places in an accident.

“I can’t feel my legs, I might be drowning. I feel pressure in my chest. I don’t want to be here, I don’t want to be here. What’s next? What’s next?”our protagonist reiterates. “You can’t change what you’ve done, so start over next semester”send as words of encouragement.

Next to Next SemesterTyler and Josh have announced The Clancy World Toura world tour with which they will set foot in Spain in 2025. Twenty One Pilots will perform on April 21 at the Wizink Center in Madrid, and on the 22nd at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona. Tickets go on sale on April 5 at the usual outlets, such as Live Nation, Ticketmaster or El Corte Inglés.
