The premiere of the ballet Black Sabbath last September was such a relevant event that even guitarist Tony Iommi himself participatedI couldn’t believe that we would have people dancing to “War Pigs” and “Iron Man”. If a while ago we were able to verify how this show unfolded firsthandnow we know that there will be an opportunity to see it in various parts of the globe, since an international tour has been announced.

Specific, “Black Sabbath – The Ballet” will undertake its international tour during 2024 and 2025. This show with a soundtrack by the masters of darkness officially premiered in September 2023 at the Hippodrome theater in Birmingham (United Kingdom), the birthplace of the heavy metal legends.

Under the baton of the director of Birmingham Royal Ballet, Carlos Acostaand Ballet Now, the ballet includes songs by Black Sabbath specially re-orchestrated songs, plus new music inspired by the legendary British heavy metal group, all performed live by the Royal Ballet Sinfonia.

That full evening of ballet promises a unique experience with three composers and three choreographers, led by renowned choreographer Pontus Lidberg (whose work has been performed by the Royal Swedish Ballet and the Paris Opera Ballet) and the composer Chris Austin (whose work includes orchestrating the music of The White Stripes for “Chroma” of Wayne McGregor). Both worked alongside the award-winning writer Richard Thomas (“Jerry Springer: The Opera”) to create an extraordinary brass symphony in three acts. The members themselves Black Sabbath have been closely involved in the development of this unique collaboration.
