This Tuesday the nominations for the 2024 Gardel Awards were announced, which will be awarded on May 28 and will celebrate the most transcendental of the last musical season in Argentina.
Among the artists with the most nominations, the young Milo J stands out, with 15; Emilia Mernes, with 12; María Becerra and Bizarrap, with 10; Nicki Nicole and Duki, with 8; and Lali, with 7.
The balance in favor of the new generations and female figures is more than evident, even more so if one takes into account that references like Miranda! (6 nominations), Fito Páez (5) or David Lebón (4) occupy an earlier step at least in terms of the number of awards they will fight for.
Córdoba, always present
Now, what happens to the people of Cordoba? The first name that appears in consideration is Luck Ra, nominated for song and record of the year for The brunettein addition to a double nomination for quartet song and another for best collaboration.
In turn, Mery Murúa was nominated for best folklore song for eternal dance, where he shares the category with Jorge Rojas and three powerful combos: Los Tabaleros and Soledad; Ahyre, Los Tekis and Pitín Zalazar; and Teresa Parodi with Lula Bertoldi, Ivonne Guzmán, Nadia Larcher & Ana Prada.
Also in folklore, but in the best artist album category, José Luis Aguirre was recognized for Loose. After his unforgettable performance at Cosquín 2024, and his subsequent Consecration award, “Chuncano” received another “pamper” from the industry and shares the category with Soledad, Teresa Parodi, Maggie Cullen and Marcelo Dellamea.
For his part, De la Rivera received a nomination for best pop group album for his recent Kamaleon, with which he will be measured against two other important names for the Argentine song: Turf and Miranda! And in the best author song album category, Santi Celli was chosen, for his album 3D.
Eruca Sativa, meanwhile, will represent Cordoban rock with its album XV Years – Live Stadium Workswhich was considered for the category that awards live album and also for best long video clip.
The quartet nominees
In the two quartet categories that the Gardels have, in addition to the aforementioned Luck Ra, we can mention the nomination of Juan Ingaramo, who together with Jean Carlos got into the category of best quartet song for Good actor. There he will compete alongside The brunette and If I could (both from Luck Ra: the first with Bm, the second with La Konga and El Vecino) and with Liesa hit by Ulises Bueno with Big One and Rusherking.
In the case of best quartet group album, those chosen were Banda Mix (from the bar) and Cachumba (Arriba las palmitas), which share the category with La Banda al Rojo Vivo, from La Rioja. Meanwhile, in best quartet artist album the trio are Ulises Bueno, Magui Olave and Eugenia Quevedo together with LBC.
As a colorful fact, La Konga was also nominated for the best tropical song category. It was for Addictedcollaboration launched with Emanero and Antonio Ríos.
