Slayer guitarist Kerry King kicks off the first solo tour in his history with a tremendous setlist that will arrive in Spain in 2024.
Kerry King sweeps away her first solo concert in Chicago
The legendary guitarist of Slayer, Kerry King, debuted solo on May 7, 2024 at Reggie’s Rock Club in Chicago, Illinois, offering a show that left its mark among attendees and fans. Accompanied by an ensemble of renowned musicians, including the vocalist Mark Osegueda (Death Angel), guitarist Phil Demmel (ex-Vio-Lence, ex-Machine Head), bassist Kyle Sanders (Hellyeah) and the drummer Paul Bostaph (Slayer), King performed a total of 17 songs, alternating between 11 new cuts from his upcoming solo album, From Hell I Riseand six Slayer classics.
Kerry King’s first solo album, From Hell I Rise, scheduled for release on May 17, promises to be an amalgamation of styles that have characterized Slayer throughout their career. “If you’ve ever liked anything by Slayer at any point in our history, there’s something on this record that you’ll like, whether it’s classic punk, fast punk, thrash or just plain heavy metal,” King commented at the album’s presentation.

Upcoming Concerts and Festivals
After this successful start, Kerry King and his band will perform on May 9 at the Welcome to Rockville festival in Florida. In addition, Slayer will return to the stage at other festivals this year, marking their return after their farewell world tour that concluded in 2019. King will also join Lamb of God and Mastodon on a joint tour celebrating 20 years of the albums Ashes of the Wake and Leviathan. In Spain, specifically, Lerry King will attend the Resurrection Fest in Viveiro, Galicia (June 26) and then will perform two dates in our country, on July 1 in Barcelona (Razzmatazz) and on July 2 in Madrid (La Riviera) .
