Cyndi Lauper announced that she is retiring from the stage. He will say goodbye with one last tour that will take place only in the United States and Canada. “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” will be the name of the tour with which the singer will move from the music scene to the 70 years.

The artist will perform in 23 cities, starting on October 18 when she begins her tour in Montreal to continue in New York on October 30, Los Angeles on November 23 and Chicago on December 5.

Lauper became world famous in 1983 when he presented his album She’s So Unusualwhich featured the song “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.”

“It’s a song that I love very much and talk about women and can be understood anywhere in the world. It has to do with their rights that, in many cases, are not respected. It was a stage of my life that I love very much,” he said about his hit.

“When I write the songs I try to play with the words and see what sound they have. I seek to be free and not set limits for myself. Now, I don’t bear the responsibility of showing them to anyone. I can make my own decisions without having to wait for a response from someone else. The entire composition process is quite important to me,” the artist explained.
