A tribute to one of the bands rock most famous of all time is what the exhibition proposes The Yellow Experience in Quito.

This is the commemorative exhibition of the Beatles which was inaugurated yesterday, Wednesday, June 12, in Plaza Las Américas and, according to schedule, will be available for visits until Sunday, July 28.

“From the entrance, the place is a new world to discover, you transform and feel like you are traveling to England (the artists’ native country). It is something that goes beyond being an exhibition,” explains Ecuadorian tour guide and cultural manager Hernán Guerrero.

Why does it open in June? Well, it is the month in which Paul MCCARTNEYmember of the fab fourwas born and this Tuesday the 18th he will turn 82 years old.

Furthermore, he says that the idea of ​​holding the exhibition arose in the month of November 2023. Guerrero is an avid fan of the four members: McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.

“It was a favorable occasion to make this kind of tribute and what better idea than to celebrate Paul with a great exhibition. This is more than a museum, it is an immersive experience that takes you to a world of colors, images, sounds and everything related to the Beatles”says the event producer and musical researcher, who is also enthusiastic.

The staging of the exhibition contains visual records and attractions, as a life size submarine which refers to Yellow Submarine, the band’s tenth studio album; the bright colored military uniforms what they used for their eighth album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band; a recreation of the zebra crossing outside EMI Studios in Abbey Road, name of his eleventh album project; and a recreation of Cavern Cluba space in Liverpool where their popularity began.

This journey through the artistic memory of the iconic quartet in its psychedelic era is designed to be a traveling exhibition, and it is planned to take it to cities such as Guayaquil and Cuenca.

“It is the first time that something of this magnitude has been done here in the country, it took us many hours and There are countless collectibles from the group, such as books, magazines, comics and CDs, which have been collected for more than 40 years“, details Guerrero.

Why the Beatles? In their words, they are pioneers of the music we have today. “It all started with them, they were innovative, creative… They were very ahead of their time. They introduced unconventional instruments for a band of rock. I believe that they were the ones who paved the way for what we hear now. In these times we need to educate musically, we need to feed on the good music that these teachers left behind.”says the fan.

“It will be like returning to the 60s, it has overtones of nostalgia and a lot of cultural activity. Even if they don’t know the Beatles, they are going to have a very pleasant experience, because they are going to know who they were who contributed and marked the world with their art,” adds Guerrero.
