The news of definitive end to Sepultura’s career by the training led by Andreas Kisser that has survived to this day was quite a surprise, also for a former founding member like Max Cavalerawhich in recent statements has left the door open for a reunion of the classic lineup of the legendary Brazilian thrasher band.

During the interview given by the singer and guitarist to Rock Hard GreeceMax was asked if he had been asked to participate at some point in the tour with which Sepultura will say goodbye to its audience: “I haven’t been asked. In fact, I think I saw something that Andreas (Kisser), of course he said, like, “Why are we going to ask them (Max and Igor) to participate? They would spoil the party.” Which is very typical of Andreas (laughs). I don’t know. “I think I’m going to let things happen as they have to happen.”

At that moment, Max mentions the possibility of a meeting if the right conditions are met: “I’m not going to force anything, and if there comes a time where we feel like we have to do a reunion… Okay, fine, as long as we do it the right way. Just like with these re-recordings of early Sepultura albums that Igor and I are doing under the name Cavalera. I think we did them the right way: honest, appropriate, from the heart.

Max Cavalera finishes this section by pointing out that he cannot be without stepping on stage, something that he will continue to do with his brother with the Cavalera project, as well as with soulfly: “So right now I’m not thinking about any of that, about a reunion. I know they announced the end of the band. I don’t understand that idea. I don’t know if they were forced to do it or if it’s a mutual decision to just stop playing because “You don’t want to do it anymore. I don’t know. I myself can’t live without music. I need to play live. It’s like the air I breathe. I love what I’m doing right now with Igor, with Cavalera, and we’re going to continue.”

Max and Igor recently They re-recorded a work as legendary as ‘Schizophrenia’Sepultura’s second album, which will arrive in a new format next June 21 via Nuclear Blast Records.

Cavalera will be performing on July 3 in the Totem room in Villaba (Navarra)he July 4th at La Sala del WiZink Center in Madrid and will participate July 5 at the Barcelona Rock Fest. Likewise, Max will return with soulfly to our country next August. Specifically, there will be the August 21 at the Santana 27 room in Bilbao, on the 24th of the same month at the Mon room in Madrid, on the 25th at the El Tren room in Granada and on the 27th at the Salamandra room in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona..
