the return of a historical figure to Radio Colón

It is not only a challenge for Celia. Furthermore, there is a great responsibility involved. From 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. – from Monday to Friday – she is accompanied by a team of women with renowned careers, such as Victoria Olaechea and Gisel Moreno, but she also feels at her side – and more present than ever – Lucho Román, Quito Bustelo and other figures outstanding radio stations from San Juan.

“I was very happy, but also very nervous about returning,” said Celia Illanes. In addition to the first morning, she hosts the second edition – from 12 to 1 p.m.

The program began on Tuesday, June 18. Illanes arrived at LV1 with the force of the Zonda wind. That morning she couldn’t sleep. He was afraid of the strong gusts and even more afraid of failing on his first day. “I had prepared the first day with many greetings to thank the people who accompanied me,” he said.

But at 5 in the morning he was already upstairs. He traveled from his home in Pocito to the studio located in downtown San Juan. There, Olaechea and Moreno were waiting for her to make her return to her house official.

The “superpowers” of the first morning

It was an idea created by Celia: “I looked for three well-known women in the environment.”

Three women, to the power of the first morning. The technical operation is in charge of Raúl Gordillo.

To do this, he counted on Victoria Olaechea, a journalist with extensive experience at Channel 4 and Radio Sarmiento, and Gisel Moreno, a young woman with experience on LV1 and a sports specialist.

Is a classic coming back?

Illanes has another objective in Colón. He will work for the return of Informedísimos, the historic informative-political program.

It will be for next year, since the grid was confirmed for 2024. This project was born to pay tribute to Lucho Román, one of his radio fathers. “He worked all day and only for that space,” he recalled.

The memory of Lucho and the affection for LV1

The words of the most San Juan Chilean still linger in Celia’s memory: “Don’t bring me problems, bring me solutions.” From Román he learned that information is now, and he did not have to prioritize problems over work.

“There was never a ‘no’ to Román’s request. You always had to find the note and in any way,” said the journalist. “There was never a ‘no’ to Román’s request. You always had to find the note and in any way,” said the journalist.

There are never impediments, he learned from that old school. She remembers broadcasting an election in Córdoba by landline at the age of 22, competing on an equal footing with the greats, or going to the meetings of the “Gordos de la CGT” and entering as another member.

It should be remembered that the information was concentrated in five media outlets in San Juan: Radio Colón, Radio Sarmiento, Radio Nacional, Canal 8 and Diario de Cuyo.

For all of the above, Illanes has a deep affection for LV1. “We have the stronghold of being the first private radio station in the country. You have to respect it, love it and work for it. This should identify us, as much as Zonda,” he concluded.
