“SOPHIE” will be published on September 27 through Transgressive and Future Classic, and will include songs like “Reason Why”, which you can listen to now on platforms and for which there has been Kim Petras and BC Kingdom.
The album will include material that SOPHIE was producing at the time of her death with her brother Benny Long. To complete it, Long has counted on people very close to the Scots. In fact, the album was nearing completion at the time of his tragic death.
“When we, Sophie’s family, took the first steps to make this project a reality, we contacted very dear friends with whom she envisioned the album. We wrote: “We have been finding solace in the music that Sophie left us, It’s a gift we truly appreciate as we try to find a way forward, with Sophie always at the center of our worlds,” says Long. “Sophie didn’t often talk publicly about her private life, preferring to capture everything she wanted to express in her music. It is only fair to share with the world the music she hoped to publish, with the conviction that we can all connect with her in this way, the way she loved most. This album has always told the story of Sophie’s musical journey, a cacophony of skill and creative vision that eclipses time and genre. Her unique sound world moves on an emotional level, encouraging the listener to intuitively embrace the ever-evolving landscape of light and dark, the soft and the hard, all the way to self-love and joyful self-acceptance. So, “SOPHIE” joins his first album “OIL OF EVERY PEARL’S UN-INSIDES”which was released in 2018, and to the compilation of previous singles that was released in 2015 under the name of “PRODUCT”. By putting all this material together we will discover SOPHIE’s importance as an artist and better understand her extensive influence on the underground electronic-pop scene of recent years.
