Crazy Town rose to fame with their biggest hit, the 1999 single “Butterfly,” which reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The song sampled the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ 1989 instrumental track “Pretty Little Ditty.” The band’s debut album, “The Gift Of Game,” sold 1.6 million copies.

Despite breaking up in 2003, Crazy Town reformed in 2007 and released their third album, “The Brimstone Sluggers,” in 2015. Binzer, who co-founded Crazy Town with Bret Mazur in 1999, had long struggled with sexual abuse issues. substances and appeared on several reality shows focused on his efforts to overcome his addiction, including “Celebrity Rehab” and “Sober House.” In 2012, he was hospitalized after losing consciousness and falling into a coma, from which he recovered. Two years ago, he was arrested for driving under the influence.
