Havana.- JOSÉ Domínguez and Daymelín Pérez, from the national team, won the elite category of the I Castrol Cycling Cup 2024, which took place in three stages on roads in the east of the capital.
Both riders are part of the preselection that is being prepared with a view to the 2024 Pan American road cycling championship, based in Sao José Dos Campos, Sao Paulo, Brazil, from May 20 to 26, for elite, sub 23 and junior categories. in both genders.
Domínguez from Havana was escorted by another under-23 year-old runner, Douglas Parrado from Holguín, and Ricardo Delgado from Sancti Spiritus, also members of the luxury team, he informed HIT the methodologist of the national commission Luis Sabourin.
In the elite female category, Pérez from Holguín was followed by her countryman Evelyn Díaz, while in the youth category Liannis Mesa and Karen Martínez from Matanzas, and Eyseli Rodríguez from Sancti Spiritus, all from the national team, dominated in this order.

The 20 kilometer solo race was dominated by the juniors Guardado (28:32.07) and Rodríguez (28:50.30) and the master C, José Reyes (29:50.26), in that order. Among the ladies, Daymelín had the best time (30:31.14).
