A year and a half ago it was announced that Bloober Team (Layers of Fear, Blair Witch and The Medium) was working on the remake of Silent Hill 2which originally came out in 2001. Since then, fans have been eager to see know any news about the game although there are also doubts about the final product, but Bloober Team has always asked a vote of confidence and he is convinced of the quality of the game when it comes out.
In the study’s annual report (translated from Polish by X user @pl_evil) the team states that: “We do not hide neither internally nor externally – this is the most important test for our work. Not only are we delighted but we also have a lot of confidence in the final result“.
The report notes that half of the studio’s production resources were focused on Silent Hill 2 Remake and that it will be “the first game in which we will move away from the environmental narrative and in the foreground be the action through which we would tell the story.”
A trailer that does not reflect the spirit of the game, according to Bloober
For a while there was no news about the game, and in November 2023 Bloober Team I asked for calm and explained that it was trying to achieve the best possible quality but the trailer that was seen in the State of Play at the end of January raised more doubts about the game, one of the most anticipated of 2024. In recent months there have been several signs such as having obtained the age rating in the United States or the change in Steam of the game’s shortcut icon that changes the face of the protagonist, which indicate that Its launch will not be far away, perhaps in May, at an event that PlayStation could celebrate since the game will be exclusive to PS5 for a while.
