This Tuesday, the Laja Guarantee Court convicted the mayor of said commune, Roberto Quintana, for the crime of sexual harassment against an official.
Specifically, the court determined a sentence of 40 days in jail against the communal chief, in addition to ordering the payment of a fine of 5 UTM, along with the suspension of his position.
However, it was established that the prison sentence must be served with the benefit of conditional remission. This implies that for a year he will be free, subject to control by Gendarmerie personnel.
