The first laptop with Qualcomm’s new ARM processor will be from ASUS

The main advantage of this type of processors is their low consumption compared to processors with x86 architecture. Unlike Apple’s M3, also with ARM architecture, this new range will include 5G connectivity on the device, offering extra connectivity that, until now, was very difficult to find on the market, although it could be implemented through external devices or equipment that included this connectivity, which had a serious impact on autonomy.

ASUS will present the first laptop with the Snapdragon

After almost a year of waiting, it has really been 9 months, we now know when the first laptop on the market with the Snapdragon X Elite from Qualcomm, a laptop that will arrive from the manufacturer ASUS in the presentation event that will be held online on May 20 at 8:00 p.m. Spanish time.

In the statement that ASUS has published on its website, unfortunately, it does not mention what the Specifications that the new ASUS laptop will have, which is part of the Vivobook family. As it is the first laptop to be officially presented, during the presentation event, ASUS will have representatives from Qualcomm and of Microsoft.

Microsoft has a lot to say about this new release since it has had to develop a version designed for ARM processors, well, rather, update the version of Windows for the tablet it presented 4 years ago managed by its own processor created in collaboration with Qualcomm with ARM architecture and that barely had a presence in the market, more because of Microsoft than because of the market itself.

On the part of Qualcomm, we hope, once again, that it announces new results of the comparisons of performance that it has been publishing in recent months, especially with Intel’s Core Ultra, where the Qualcomm chip wins, as always, by a landslide, both in consumption and performance.

Qualcomm Snapdragon

Qualcomm’s new ARM architecture processor is available in two variants: X Elite and X Plus. The Snapdragon The X Plus version includes 10 cores, 3.8 TFLOPS of GPU and 45 TOPS of NPU.

All models include 5G connectivity, LPDDR5X memory, support for Wi-Fi7 and the battery can last two days autonomy. This last section, along with 5G connectivity, are two of the most interesting options for users looking for mobility and autonomy in equal parts and which, currently, is not found in any model on the market.

Laptops with Qualcomm’s ARM processor

In addition to the model that ASUS will present, manufacturers such as Microsoft (for the Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 range) have already confirmed that they will use this same chip, just like Samsung with the Galaxy Book4 Edge, Lenovo with the YOGA Slim 7 and the Thinkpad T14s, Dell with the Inspiron 14 Plus and H.P..
