He addressed in his presentation the strong ties between the National Assembly and the Russian Federation Council, as well as the State Duma. “They are very close and valuable ties for us based on the sincere friendship that unites us and that grow with the people.”

Likewise, he appreciated how the political dialogue maintained has been relevant, friendly, and aimed at promoting bilateral relations in all fields of interest and mutual benefit.

“We ratify our gratitude to Russia for its constant support against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the Government of the United States, expressed in international settings and important political forums,” the Vice President of the National Assembly of People’s Power said at the meeting. of the Council of State.

“Cuba appreciates Russia’s traditional vote in favor of our country’s Resolution against the blockade at the UN and those multiple opportunities in which it has publicly denounced the criminal policy, highlighting those approved by both chambers of the Federal Assembly and the statements of the senior leaders of the country,” he highlighted.

With emphasis, he pointed out the impact of the creation of working groups in both parliaments and the holding of virtual meetings in 2024 with Russian counterparts, which are leaving for the Greater Antilles, he said, a favorable balance in the follow-up to agreements and work agreements.

For her part, the Vice President of the Russian Federation Council, Inna Yuryena Svyatenko, was excitedly grateful for the possibility of exchanging on bilateral issues of common interest at the National Capitol. “The ties between Moscow and Havana are very strong and time-tested, characterized by a high level of political dialogue between Russia and Cuba, reflected in many bilateral meetings in different areas and spheres,” she assured.

Representative Félix Martínez Suárez, head of the Cuba-Russia Parliamentary Friendship Group, and Jesús Rafael Mora González, director of International Relations of the Cuban legislature, also participated in the fraternal meeting.
