The last time Colo Colo qualified for the round of 16 of the Libertadores Cup its captain was Esteban Paredeswho led the albos in 2018.

What’s more, that season the Cacique, which was directed by Héctor Tapia, reached the quarterfinals, an instance in which it was removed from the competition by Palmeiras.

Now Colo Colo is going to face Junior in the round of 16 and the historic scorer in Chilean soccer was satisfied with the draw.

Paredes’ opinion

El Tanque believes that the series with the Colombians will be complicated, but at the same time qualifies the Barranquilla cast as “accessible.”

“He is a difficult, complicated rival, he is the current champion of Colombian soccer, but I feel that he is accessible. Although the games have to be played, the club has very good players and all that is missing is the last touch and goal scorer. During this break, Colo Colo will be able to put together itself in good shape and fight for the classification against Junior de Barranquilla,” said the left-handed player on ADN radio.

Esteban Paredes spoke about Colo Colo.

Then, Paredes talked about reinforcements for Colo Colo and approved the possible arrival of Luciano Cabral.

“Almirón is working on it and I have heard that he is missing a right back, a scorer and a number 10 who can score a pass to leave a forward or winger alone to define the games… I like Cabral. Although in Coquimbo he has more spaces than he would have in Colo Colo, but the team is missing the last pass and it would be a contribution,” he concluded.
