Sasmung will bring its Live Translate application, powered by Galaxy AI, to third-party applications that have support for voice calls, in order to offer simultaneous translation also in services that are not native to the brand.
The South Korean technology firm has commented in a statement signed by executive vice president and director of mobile R&D, Won-joon Choi, that it seeks to help people break language barriers and communicate more naturally.
The manager has pointed out that, in this sense, AI offers “many possibilities” and that Samsung believes that smartphones are the main access point to unleash its full potential, since users depend on these devices “for most of their daily needs.
One of the features recently launched by the firm in the calling section is Live Translate, powered by AI and focused on offering users the ability to communicate without language barriers and through a secure and private system.
Live Translate is a feature powered by Galaxy AI that offers a personal audio and text translator service integrated into Samsung mobile calls, so no third-party applications are required.
Samsung has now announced that it hopes to expand Live Translate’s capabilities to take them “beyond the brand’s native calling app” and introduce real-time translation into other apps that support voice calling. For example, WhatsApp, Zoom or Google Meet.
Choi has also announced, on the other hand, that the introduction of AI in the Galaxy S24 series “was only the beginning” and that he will continue to optimize this technology to bring it to his next folding devices.
Likewise, it has committed to expanding Galaxy AI experiences across the Galaxy ecosystem and working to accelerate innovations in mobile AI “as the AI era advances at a rapid pace.”
