Born on September 7, 1952, the actor studied theater at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Later, he served as a professor of the Movement and Performance department. It was in 1984 that the actor debuted on the small screen. His first work in television series came with “Tower 10″ from TVN, where he played “Valerio Díaz”. He then participated in “Martha at eight” (1985), “The Midnight Prisoner” (1985), “The Ville” (1986) and also had a role in the series “Quintrala” (1987) and in “Chronicle of a holy man” (1990).
During his time on TVN, the actor was part of the memorable soap operas “Love me” (1993), “Red and honey” (1994) and “Crazy Skin” (nineteen ninety six).
After passing through the public channel, Bravo arrived at the dramatic area of Channel 13 where he participated in the productions “Loving You” (1998), “Out of control” (1999), “Flavor ati” (2000) and “Brownish skin” (2001). The latter was on screen at the time of his death. Just one week before the end of filming for the soap opera, the actor lost his life.
Rodolfo Bravo also had notable participations in the world of cinema. The duo of actors played “Juanito” and “Juanito”, two friends who practiced this discipline and who provoked ridicule from people on the street. It was there that the phrase arose, which is part of each ending of their scenes, with which they managed to make viewers laugh: “Ridiculous or ridiculous?”.
According to Torres in “De tú a tú”, it was Andrés Rillon who asked them to play two bodybuilders, making a parody of the people who practiced this discipline.
Another of his remembered characters was the mechanic “Peyo” in the comedy series “The Cárcamo” (1998-1999) on Channel 13, starring Gonzalo Robles.
He also participated in the comedy program “Jaguar… yu?” from TVN and was part of “Theater on Channel 13″, where he made people laugh with his funny works alongside actors such as Fernando Kliche, Tomás Vidiella, Luz Croxatto, Fernando Farías and Schlomit Baytelman.
A tragic accident
On November 5, 2001, news sent the national acting world into mourning. Rodolfo Bravo died in a car accident in Cajón del Maipo.
The afternoon of this fateful day, the actor had met with one of his great friends, Gonzalo Robles, with whom he worked in different productions. They spent several hours talking in a bar and, as Robles remembers, Rodolfo was crestfallen.
“We were there in a bar in the mountains in Cajón del Maipo, fixing our lives, he told me his things. “I was a little depressed, but I was still going up.”Robles recalled in “from you to you”. “We said goodbye and half an hour later I got a call from Inesita, the owner of the bar, who knew that Rodolfo had had an accident. He hit the jackpot and was shot dead.”he added.
“I went thinking he could be alive. And he had passed away. A hue… super strong, it really pissed me off because it was like if we separated now and one of them disappears.. We were talking about deep things, about friends. A friend who left us, a very good friend,” said the actor.

After the death of Rodolfo Bravo was announced, his colleagues had affectionate words to remember him. Tomas Vidiella mentioned that it was “intrinsically funny and brilliant, witty,” adding that “He was quite modest about his talent.”. His work was posthumously premiered in “women’s stories” from TVN, his participation in the series “Life is a lottery” from TVN, along with the movies “The photographer” and “Lying looking at the stars”. Just eleven days after his death, he concluded “Brownish skin”, his last appearance in the national soap operas.
