Radio Nuevitas – Versos al Salitre, a meeting of poets in Nuevitas

Nuevitas, June 17.- The fourth edition of the Versos al Salitre Poetry Festival will take place in this coastal city from the 21st to the 23rd, with the leadership of the literary group Manuel Maure Parri.

The event will bring together delegates from the Camagüey municipalities of Guáimaro, Santa Cruz del Sur, Florida, Minas, Camagüey, and Nuevitas, and a poet from Puerto Padre, Las Tunas territory.

Meanwhile, it will have the special participation of Yoandra Santana Perdomo, president of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba and director of the Nicolás Guillén Foundation, in Camagüey, and photographer Eduardo Rodríguez Martínez.

For the festival of letters, eight activities are planned, in which 28 poets will share their creations, and this year they will be linked with other artistic manifestations, in addition, they will approach the Number One community, which will be dedicated to children.

Among those honored at the event are El Club de la Decada, the Artesanos del Cañón project and the Danzarte company.

Visits to the Ricardo Cabrero library, the Guernica art gallery, the Picasso patio, the Municipal Museum, the Salvador Cisneros Betancourt park and Radio Nuevitas are planned as part of the contest.

The Verses al Salitre Poetry Festival was held for the first time on December 5, 2021 with the participation of local and Camagüeyan artists.
