They arrested Walter Maciel, the commissioner in charge of the search for Loan in Corrientes

Walter Macielthe commissioner who was in charge of the search for Loan Danilo Peñathe five-year-old boy missing for nine days in Corrientes, was arrested this Saturday.

The police officer had authorized municipal official María Victoria Caillava and her husband and former military officer Carlos Pérez to travel to the city of Corrientes the day after the minor’s disappearance.

For its part, the Corrientes Police reported that this Saturday, when it ordered the passivity and initiated an administrative summary against Maciel.

They are already six suspects arrested for the disappearance of Loan who was last seen on June 13.

They offer a reward for information on the whereabouts of Loan, the 5-year-old boy who is missing in Corrientes.

The Goya Investigative Prosecutor’s Office explained that the arrest warrant for Maciel is based on the argument that it was he who allowed Caillava and Pérez to leave the search perimeter. Both also remain detained.

This is how the arrested commissioner spoke about Loan’s disappearance

After Maciel’s arrest, a video in which the commissioner spoke to the residents of Corrientes went viral on social networks. “The people are in charge of the prosecutor’s office and the court, it is those people who must do their job like us. So if we need you (journalists and neighbors) we are going to let you know as we did from the first moment,” the police officer in charge of the search said at that time.

This Saturday, the police carry out new raids in the house of the last three detainees. Yesterday, Justice detected traces of Loan in two of the three cars examined. The tests were carried out on the vehicles of those attending the lunch where the boy was last seen.

The tests were carried out in a red Ford Ka and a white Ranger truck, owned by Caillava and Pérez. The day Loan was last seen, the couple went to the countryside in the truck, which opens up new questions about why traces of the boy were found in the Ford Ka.
