The passion for the stage, where the turns survive, the vividness of the expressions and the versatility in pursuit of the confluence of folk and contemporary lines in the same show, inspire the Guantanamo dancer Lisandra Rodríguez Cuello to dream and grow for two decades in the Free Dance company.

This woman of dance began when she was only 16 years old in the group, after graduating from the Art School, and from the beginning she has been motivated to learn the peculiar style of the teachers, the American Elfriede Mahler, (the founder), and Alfredo Velázquez , who continues the work as the second director and continuator of the legacy of the outstanding choreographer.

In 2024, Danza Libre celebrates the 34th anniversary of its creation, the initiator of the great amateur movement that is gradually reaching Guantánamo, to which Danza Fragmentada and the Babul Folkloric Ballet, the other two professional groups, are added, and together they turn the province into one of the most important demonstration squares in the country.

Lisandra Rodríguez Cuello, today Regisseur of Danza Libre, is one of the architects of that story of love and consecration that is also made known in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela during the Mission Corazón Adentro, an entire imprint preserved by the new generations in the territory. .

She is one of those honored for her 20 years of artistic life in the season for the 34th anniversary of Danza Libre.
