Anisley García and four judokas get tickets for Paris-2024 – Juventud Rebelde

The official notification that the diver Anisley García and the judokas Maylín del Toro (63 Kg), Idalys Ortiz (+78 Kg), Iván Felipe Silva (90 Kg) and Andy Granda (+100 Kg) will be at the Paris Olympic Games brings the Cuban sports delegation to 51.

La Tuti, as the representative of ornamental diving is known, received confirmation from World Aquatics, the governing body of that sport, to participate in the individual platform test.

With her there are two Cuban athletes in the competition under the five rings of that discipline, after Prisis Leidys Ruiz was previously informed of her ticket for the individual trampoline competition.

Since London 2012 there had been no Cuban participation in the Olympic diving events, when José Antonio Guerra and Jeinkler Aguirre occupied a creditable fifth place in the synchronized platform.

The tests that awarded points for the Olympic judo ranking also concluded, after which those classified by that means and all those who will be in the French capital were informed.

Idalys Ortiz, four-time medalist in summer events (1-2-1) will carry the flag together with four-time Olympic champion Mijaín López at the opening ceremony, scheduled for July 26 on the Seine River.

The four judokas have experience in summer meetings, since Silva will be there for the third time in a row, while del Toro and Granda competed in the last competition.

There are still options to increase the island’s athletics embassy, as the Olympic rankings close, but 51 athletes have already secured their presence, who are aiming to place Cuba among the top 20 countries in the final medal table.
