Ricardo Gareca included Rodrigo Echeverria among the starters to play against Argentina in what was a success. He was fierce on the mark, showed personality against the world champion and almost scored a goal against Draw Martínez.
That’s why the Chilean football family applauded him, understanding that the task he was going to accomplish was not easy. “Along with Claudio Bravo, the best in Chile. He can’t leave the team anymore,” Jorge Garcés told Redgol.
“I had said that I missed Echeverría in the starting cast, I missed him. “He showed that he is a great player,” said the former La Roja coach on the way to the 2002 World Cup.
Osvaldo Hurtado is along that same line. “Echeverría could improve his passing a little, but he is spectacular because of what he transmits and runs, a player made for the national team,” said the former Catholic player.
Echeverría and his “competitive gene”
The current Huracán midfielder, who has put the Globo fans into his pocket, was also praised by communicators.
Journalist Gonzalo Fouillioux stated on his social networks that it was a “great game for Rodrigo Echeverría”, assuring that “he has a special competitive gene, a player with a presence that is always felt”.
Surely the midfielder will start again against Canada this Saturday, in the match that will be played in Orlando from 8:00 p.m. in Chile. La Roja is obliged to win to advance to the round.
