The National Disaster Prevention and Response Service (Senapred) issued a Red Alert for the commune of Loncoche due to the overflow of the Cruces River.
The emergency generated the evacuation of some 70 families from the area, and it was reported that at least 8 homes are flooded.
In addition, different rural sectors of the commune are isolated as a result of the overflow of the Cruces River.
Specifically, it was about 600 hectares that would be under water, according to the mayor of Loncoche, Alexis Pineda, who also indicated to Radio Bío Bío that There are about 300 farmers affected.
Along with this, it was reported that six fire companies in the commune are stationed in case the situation worsens.
The alert is part of the context of intense rains left by a frontal system in the Araucanía region, which It has also left threats in other areas of the province of Cautín -to which Loncoche belongs.
A similar situation exists in the commune of Lautaro, which is under Yellow Alert (until the closing of this note) due to the threat of overflow, due to the increase in the flow of the Muco River.
Meanwhile, the third landslide in two days was recorded in the Queule cove in Toltén. The mass removal specifically affected the Néstor Riquelme ravine sector.
