The Argentine government confirmed on Tuesday night the successful departure of the five Venezuelan opponents, who remained noticeable in the Argentine embassy in Caracas since March 2024.

The five opponents are Pedro Urruchurtu, Humberto Villalobos, Claudia Macero, Omar González and Magalí Meda, all members of the team near María Corina Machado, leader of the main opposition force in Venezuela.
“The National Government deeply values the efforts made to guarantee the safety and well -being of those who for a long time were under Argentine protection of the persecution of the Nicolás Maduro regime,” the statement said.
The operation was coordinated in stealth and had international logistics support.
In addition, the Milei administration reiterated its commitment to the release of the Argentine gendarme Nahuel Gallo, kidnapped by the Chavista regime.
“His freedom is a priority for this government and we will not stop until we reach it,” concluded the official text.
