Our country is a reference in the field of vehicle production, since it occupies second place in Europe, only behind Germany, and the eighth worldwide. In Spanish factories an average of 15.5 vehicles per year are assembled, in front of the European average of 5.4.
Most demanded employment profiles in the car
To this is added the manufacture of components for vehicles, where Spain occupies fourth place in Europe, with a network of more than 1,000 plants distributed throughout the national territory and around 720 business groups.
In economic terms, the automotive sector represents about 10% of the national GDP, with a turnover that is around 94,000 million euros and use more than two million people, including related services such as sales, vehicle rental, insurance and driving training.
In this context, trends in human resources reflect a sector in full transformation towards a more sustainable, digitized and connected mobility. The profiles that are most demanded change, and from Adecco Automotion point out which are the most requested and what is charged, on average, in each of them.
1) Software development Engineer
It is the best paid profile of all analyzed for the automotive sector and one of the most demanded of the moment, with a salary that in regions such as the Basque Country can reach 50,000 euros gross per year, although with salaries of 24,000 euros in the most junior positions. In any case, it exceeds the barrier of 40,000 euros per year in Catalonia, the Community of Madrid, Galicia, Asturias, the Valencian Community, Andalusia, the Region of Murcia and Castilla y León.
This profile is responsible for the creation and development of software for the systems embedded in vehicles. It covers from control systems to entertainment and safety, so to opt for these types of positions it is necessary to have solid knowledge in programming to develop advanced technological solutions.
2) Automation Engineer
The salary fork part of the 25,000 euros per year in the most junior positions in autonomies such as the Basque Country, the Valencian Community, Andalusia or the Region of Murcia, up to 50,000 of the Basque Country, a region where the best paid are. In Castilla y León it reaches 46,000 and in Madrid somewhat less, 45,000.
This profile is responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining automatic and robotic systems in production. Collaborates with equipment such as production and maintenance engineering.
3) Sales head
The salaries range from 25,000 euros gross per year to 45,000 charged by those that have ten years of experience or more, in the community of Madrid, Galicia or Asturias.

Salaries start from the 23,000 euros annual gross for the most junior profiles in autonomies such as Galicia but can reach 45,000 euros in regions such as the Basque Country. He is the person in charge of managing and coordinating the daily operations of the workshop.
6) Mechanical
The salary can range from 20,000 euros per year, for the most junior profiles, Galicia, Asturias and the Region of Murcia, to 42,000 euros gross per year that a senior professional in Andalusia receives on average.
They are responsible for the repair and maintenance of vehicles and the diagnosis of breakdowns and repair of systems through specialized tools.
7) Truck driver (Card C)
The salary band for the most junior positions starts from 20,000 euros gross per year that they receive at the beginning of their career in communities such as Castilla y León, the Region of Murcia, Asturias and Galicia. And although in most regions analyzed they exceed the 32,000 euros gross per year when they prove a long experience, it is in the Community of Madrid and Catalonia where they reach their best medium remuneration, of 41,000 euros a year.

8) Mechanized specialist
Its average salary in lower experience can be around 20,000 euros per year and reach 41,000 when the ten years of experience are exceeded, especially in the Basque Country and Andalusia.
Its main function is the manufacture of metal parts and components for vehicles through advanced machinery.
9) Commercial Advisor
His average remuneration at the beginning of his career can be about 20,000 – 22,000 euros per year in the autonomies analyzed and reach 41,000 when the ten years of experience are exceeded, especially in Andalusia, where the highest average salary for this profile has been recorded. Its main task is to advise customers in the choice of vehicles and financing options.
10) Replacement operator
The salary band of this figure can start from 18,000 euros gross per year for the most junior profiles in autonomies such as the region of Murcia, Galicia or Asturias and reaching 32,000 in regions such as Castilla y León or León Basque.
It is the profile responsible for managing the inventory of spare parts and accessories for vehicles. His work includes the reception, storage and distribution of the pieces, as well as the control of stocks through the company’s inventory management system.
