Your next project will be Titana film directed by Mike P. Nelson set in the Amazon jungle. The Colombian spoke with him about his experience in these productions and the projects to come.
How and when he knew that he wanted to devote himself to acting?
“From Plado I was fascinated by art. Painting, drawing … I was a very ‘plague’ child, very restless. My parents wanted to get to classes, but I said no, that I did it for passion. We live in Brazil, then in Germany, and when we returned to Colombia, to Cali, I began to notice that I had a spark for that. A teacher, Remedios, gave me 15 minutes before the English class to make accents, and there I began to release myself. I read books and interpreted them in class, Ulises, The return to the world in 80 daysto Borges.

When I finished school, I began to study law, but I felt that I was doing something that I liked, but I didn’t passionate. I took six months to study with a plastic artist who had sponsored me that is called Caty Cucalón, and one day, when I had already returned to university, I accompanied a friend who was studying acting to her academy. That day I entered the place and it turns out that they were doing a casting. The director, Sandra Naar – who is now my manager – asked me that if I wanted to participate and I said yes. I won it and with that a scholarship in that academy. There I started studying performance. ”
How was your first experience in a production?
“I got the first project in 2019. I had been studying at the Academy for 4 years, and I got a project with the telepacific channel. We recorded a series called The look of the convictedwhich was based on the massacre of Club Diners and 1982. That was just three years before the Pozeto massacre in Bogotá, which were based later to make the book and The movie called Satan.

It was an impressive experience. I had the opportunity to work with super thesa people such as Carlos Pagua, Fernando López and Juan Felipe Chaverra. That allowed me to have a real perspective of what acting, production and the whole story is, and it was my first strong approach to the professional environment.
But the first major project was in 2022 when I was chosen to be part of the cast of Los Billisthe Amazon Prime series. There I met a beautiful family of actors from this new generation of television and that was an open -abbreviation for what I wanted to continue pointing in my career. ”
What has been the greatest challenge he has faced at the beginning of his career?
“I believe that the biggest challenge is to know what kind of artist I want to be. There are many options for those who work and are constantly growing, but growing implies getting out of the comfort zone. In my case, I always wanted to approach the cinema, tell stories from that perspective.
When I first did theater, I understood that the three languages - theatrical, cinematographic and television – have their own truth. What changes is the way they work. In the theater, my energy has to reach the last row; In the cinema, everything is more content, because the camera captures even the slightest gesture.
It is not about what is more truthful, but to understand each one’s tools. In the end, competition is with oneself. There are very talented people, of course, but the key is to stay constant, because this race is beautiful, but it also has a lot of uncertainty. ”
What Colombian actors and productions do you like?
“I love what they are doing with One hundred years of lonelinessespecially Dinamo’s work in production, seems spectacular. I also liked it a lot Flight kidnapping 601what Camilo Prince did there was tremendous, and The theft of the century fascinated me.
I feel that we are telling high -level stories, with impressive actors. I admire Christian Tappan’s work, Juan Pablo Urrego, Andrés Parra, Marcela Benjumea… In general, I admire many actors, both of the old guard and the most contemporary and the new ones who have been stepping strongly.
In addition, I really enjoy the theater. I feel that in Colombia there is a really impressive level of talent. ”
What short -term goals have in action and how is it projected in 10 years?
“The short -term goal I want to fulfill is a leader in an international series. I work for that with all love, because art is my engine of life.
In the long term, I imagine calm, living with my family, with my girlfriend – we are at that time, if God wants – with my children. I also want to help and guide from what I have learned, and continue with a project that I started a few years ago in Cali: a foundation that works with the abandoned old man and the street Samaritans, transforming realities through art. ”
