The tender was published in October 2023 and Cabify was awarded at the end of December of the same year, but then it was prosecuted, since In January 2024 Transvip filed a demand for unfair competition against Cabify, to which Nuevo Pudahuel also added.
Transvip is a concessionaire of a minibuses transport service at Santiago airport. In 2022 this transport firm began the search for a partner in a process led by Larrain Vial. According to the demand, the platform used confidential information obtained during that instance to prepare its passenger transport offer from and to the air terminal.

The application said that “we have studied each of the details of this operation so that drivers and passengers can enjoy a better service. The relationship with Hyundai was key, since they provided us with support at all times and we managed a special order directly with the factory.”
The tender is for four years and, according to Cabify, “we hope to see the evolution of the market to incorporate additional vans.” And, in his opinion, “the growth of passenger traffic from and to the airport has increased considerably so we want to be part of this growth.”
The company also detailed the role of this operation in its growth strategy in the country. Thus, he said that “in our 13 years of operation in the country, we have consolidated ourselves as a relevant actor in urban mobility, not only at the individual level, but also in corporate mobility.”
In that sense, he indicated that “the airport is a key gear of this mobility and therefore for us it was a longing for a long time ago. In other markets we have already been part of this ecosystem and, at the local level, after the recovery of post pandemic traffic and the inauguration of both terminals, we consider that this was the right time to continue contributing to quality mobility for the millions of users of this airport.”
This Cabify turn begins just after the so -called Uber Law is enacted.
