BarcelonaThe Civil Guard has arrested this Sunday to the fourth and last crew of the narcollanche that on February 9 of last year rammed an official vessel in the port of Barbate (Cádiz), causing the death of two civil guards. The body has explained, in a statement, that this last arrest complements the other arrests that took place last November in the same case.
The detainee was in an unknown whereabouts since the crime occurred and had an international arrest warrant. Finally, agents have located him in the province of Cádiz. This action puts an end to months of research. The man will be brought to court tomorrow Monday, as he advanced THE MAIL OF ANDALUCÍA.
The events occurred on the night of February 9, 2024. A narcollanxa violently rammed a zodiac vessel of the underwater activities of the Civil Guard during an operation in the port of Barbate against drug trafficking. The violent clash between the two boats caused the death of two body agents, David Pérez and Miguel Ángel González and caused injuries to four other agents, in which it was one of the most serious episodes related to drug trafficking in Gaditanas waters that are remembered in recent years.
The first arrests occurred months after the incident, on September 19, 2024. Then the boat confessed pilot, Karim el Baqqali, 32, voluntarily delivered to the police and claimed to be his driver. The Baqqali also described the “accident” outrage. The judge who has the case decreed his entry into provisional prison, communicated and without bail, and charged two crimes of murder, four of murder in the degree of attempt, six of the attack, one of smuggling and another of belonging to the criminal organization.
A month later, on November 8, two other crews were arrested and also entered provisional prison without bail. Both are attributed to the same crimes as in the squad, as reported by the Superior Court of Justice of Andalusia (TSJA).
