Itongadol.- Israel’s Prime minister Benjamín Netanyahu said Thursday that the victory in the Gaza Strip means both defeat Hamas and free the hostages, during a visit to reservisting soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on a base located in the south of the country.
” We are determined to achieve two goals. One is defeating Hamas, eliminating Hamas. The second, of course, at the same time, free our hostages, “Netanyahu said.
last week the Israeli premier had said that the last objective of the war is the defeat of Hamas, which generated anger in the relatives of those who remain captive in the Palestinian coastal enclave.
“I tell Hamas one thing: the rules will change very soon,” he added.
Netanyahu’s statements occur a few days after the Israeli security cabinet approved a new plan according to which IDFs would take control of Gaza and remain in the captured territory.
” We have more challenges, but we have a strong spirit, and this spirit is achieved by our army, composed of both regular and reserved soldiers, ” the prime minister remarked.
The Government led by Netanyahu received many criticisms for summoning tens of thousands of reservists again, while promoting a recruitment bill that would allow the vast majority of ultra -orthodox men (Haredim) to avoid military service.
” Reservists do a fantastic job. It is a great burden for them, for their families, for their wives and children. And we are determined to help them, because they deserve everything. We gave a lot, but we have to give more, and we will, ” he concluded.
