An ascent at work cost Katy’s life, although she already knew that in her profession she always had to walk with a thousand eyes. At the end of January 2023, the person in charge of his brothel appointed Katy ‘Madame’ of El Pinar, a brothel ramshaft located in the Madrid town of Pezuela de las Torres, 900 inhabitants, just at the limit of the province of Guadalajara. With the ‘appointment’, this 44 -year -old Dominican, married and with five children, took care of the collection, shifts and prostitutes schedules. They were a few more euros a month that Katy was very expensive.
In his years as a local worker, Katy had made a mortal enemy, a Colombian named Lucia. The discussions between them were continuous. They did not agree on the organization of work or collection to certain clients. The same day of the murder, witnesses declared during the trial, they had the strongest anger. Katy threatened a kitchen knife to Lucia, who took refuge in a room. Then Katy took a fire extinguisher and began hitting the door until he calmed down.
But Lucia swore revenge against her partner and recruited two people: a 25 -year -old relative and a 57 man who often transferred her to Parla, the municipality where she resided, and with which she maintained a romantic relationship. Hours after the knife incident, the three cronies arrived at the brothel in the oldest man’s car, who stayed in the vehicle to facilitate flight, while Lucia and his collaborator accessed together through the backyard. Already within the premises, his goal was clear: look for Katy.
Lucia guided her crime partner in the halls until they found their victim in one of the rooms. They pounced on it with a large knife and drew several mortal stabs in the abdomen before running. Another brothel worker saw Lucia Malaraida and began shouting: “He is dying, he is dying!” He was right. Katy was wounded to death and died a few hours later, almost at the same time that the Civil Guard received the first notice about the Pezuela event
After the crime, the alleged authors of the murder continued with their plan. They got into the accomplice car and traveled 70 kilometers to the south of the Community of Madrid. They hid for more than a month in locations in the area, hid the car they used to escape the place of the murder and changed several times on the phone, in fear that the Civil Guard would follow the trail. when they thought they were about to be discovered, they made the final decision, flee, but they did not get it. The woman was arrested when she was heading to Barajas airport to flee to her country, Colombia. His relative was also captured when he tried to escape, this time, at the Chamartín train station. Meanwhile, the accomplice was arrested at the domicile of Parla where he hid. In the house of one of the detainees the Civil Guard found the murderer, which was analyzed by the Criminalistics Laboratory.
The Judge of Instruction number 1 of Alcalá de Henares, who took charge of the investigation, decreed the entry into provisional prison of the detainees. Two years later, the prosecution’s brief described the facts as murder, and not homicide, for the numerical superiority of the aggressors, because the aggression was by surprise and for the null possibility of defense of the victim. The prosecutor asks for 24 years in prison for Lucía’s family, 22 for her and 10 for her sentimental partner, in addition to 100,000 euros of compensation for each of Katy’s five children, who was married.
