The renowned Spanish chef José Andrés is bewildered by the criticisms that his friends continue to receive, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle: “They are friends,” said Page Six exclusively on Tuesday at the Carnival 2025 Gala of City Harvest in New York. “I can only talk about the good things they do.” Andrés has defined Harry and Megan “Like an incredible couple”and pointed out that while “they could be in their own cave and do nothing” after getting away from their real duties in 2020, they have decided to use their platforms “to give voice and life to problems.”

Sussex’s help in Los Angeles fires
The winner of the James Beard award highlighted the help of the real couple during the forest fires of Los Angeles as an example: “When they were in Los Angeles during the fires, they were really wrapped in them,” he told us. “When the cameras were not recording, they were listening to people and made them feel as the most important person in the world.” The Duke and the Duchess of Sussex were seen volunteering after the fires began to devastate southern California in early January.

They associated with the non -profit organization World Central Kitchen de Andrés to serve meals to both lifeguards and the victims of the fire and were also seen distributing basic foods and articles outside the Pasadena Convention Center. In addition, Markle offered discreetly as a voluntary with Altadena Girls, an organization designed to “restore the normality” of adolescents affected by fires. Prince Harry’s wife arrived with bags full of clothes and beauty products and then helped to provide Lunch to all volunteers.

World Central Kitchen, which feeds people affected by environmental crises and military conflicts, has long -standing links with the Archewell Foundation of Harry and Meghan. The two groups were associated in 2020. “I have been able to spend time with them, working with them,” Andrés told People about the Sussex in 2022, “and they are very practical and perfectly know what happens in the world, problems and needs.”
