
Diosdado Cabello, current Minister of the Interior and justice of Venezuela, issued statements in a program broadcast on state television, after President Gustavo Petro publicly assured that alias ‘Chiquito Malo’, leader of the Gulf clan, would have completed an alliance with members of the national Liberation Army (ELN) in Venezuelan territory.
The Colombian head of state expressed his statement through a publication in his X account, in which he said: “’Chiquito Malo’ has decided an alliance with the ELN, on the Venezuelan side, 32 tons of cocaine of the Catatumbo have already been seized, and detained several mayors and politicians who helped the narco”.
Petro’s words generated a direct hair reaction, who is considered one of the most influential figures of the Government of Nicolás Maduro. during his speech, he questioned that Venezuela be involved in internal security issues in Colombia.
“In Venezuela we are giving, Mr. Gustavo Petro, president of Colombia, with all due respect, a frontal battle against all drug trafficking mafias, paramilitarism, terrorism. Why do you have to justify that you will change your boss of port and then talk that in Venezuela?” The official said.

In his speech, Cabello insisted that it does not correspond to the Colombian president to attribute responsibilities outside the national territory and emphasized that his country has taken operational actions to combat organized crime.

In addition to rejecting Petro’s statements, the Venezuelan leader took the opportunity to point out that the Colombian authorities would not effectively respond to shared information about members of the criminal group of Aragua.
