In the letter, directed Minister of Health, Guillermo Alfonso Jaramillo, Cuban ambassador Javier Caamaño Cairo, He informed about the availability of the doses and requested instructions on how to proceed with the acceptance and delivery of the donation.

“Regarding the request received on April 25 on the sanitary emergency declared in Colombia due to the yellow fever outbreak, we are well to tell him that our Ministry of Public Health informed us of the possibility of making a donation of two thousand doses (200 bulbs x 10 doses) of the yellow fever vaccine (bottle x 5ml+sun),” said the letter.

The vaccine offered by Cuba is manufactured by the Institute of Bio-Manguhos de ’s technology and immunobiological and comes from the 228VF040z lot. In total, the donation consists of two hundred bulbs, each with ten doses, for a total of two thousand doses.

Due to the urgency of the health situation, the Cuban embassy requested that the Ministry of Health indicate as soon as possible the procedures to accept the donation and coordinate its immediate sending and distribution.

This gesture is carried out in response to the health emergency caused by the yellow fever outbreak in Colombia, which has generated alarm in several regions of the country.
