The judicial authorities accuse them of having received millionaire coimas in exchange for favoring certain contracts with resources for emergency and disasters care in the country. According to the accusation, Name would have received $ 3 billion pesos, and another $ 1 billion street.
From his X account, the head of state not only supported the judicial decision, but also took the opportunity to point out, especially Iván Name, for having deliberately acted to allegedly hinder the government’s legislative agenda.
“He sabotaged the pension reform, fooled her seven months so that there would be no discussion time. He opposed all our projects, and now he goes to jail, syndicated to steal the government and the people”Petro wrote.

In its publication, Petro added another phrase that has caused confusion due to its apparent lack of coherence and that this medium could not decipher: “Almoarar Busvo in EM Love La.foema de Extraee Dinwros to pay campaigns in Bohitá,” he wrote.
The phrase, mostly with spelling errors, has unleashed multiple interpretations and comments on social networks, without so far there is an official clarification about its meaning or if it was a typing error.

The Court’s Instruction Chamber made this decision after assessing the testimonies and evidence collected during several months of investigation into the UNGRD case, one of the most famous corruption scandals of the Petro government.
The investigation goes back more than a year ago, when Sneyder Pinilla, then Deputy Director of Disaster Management of UNGRD, confessed to having participated in a corruption network and was sentenced to five years in prison. According to their testimony, the illegal funds would have come out of cost overruns in a contract to acquire 40 carotanques for the supply of drinking water in La Guajira, a region historically affected by water shortage.
Pinilla revealed that the diverted resources were delivered to Name and Calle in October 2023, just before the regional elections. Family members of both congressmen participated in those elections: Iván Name’s daughter and Andrés Calle’s father and brother, which has generated more suspicions about the improper use of public funds.

The purpose of the payments, according to the former official, was to ensure that parliamentarians will speed up the legislative process of the pension, health and labor reforms promoted by the Executive. However, the projects faced multiple obstacles in Congress, especially by political sectors represented by those now involved.
To the above are added the contributions of Sandra Ortiz, former advocate for the Government regions, which presented to the authorities a set of evidence that further compromise the former presidents of Congress. Among the evidence delivered is chats with the son of Iván Name, in which he asked him to remind him of the apartment number where the money was allegedly made on October 12, 2023. Ortiz said that it was two payments: one of 1.5 billion pesos and another for the same amount the next day.
These deliveries would have taken place after a key meeting between Name, Ortiz, Vladimir Fernández – who at that time was the legal secretary of the Presidency and today is a magistrate of the Constitutional Court – and Carlos Ramón González, then director of the Administrative Department of the Presidency (Danpre). According to the testimonies, at that breakfast, the vote for the election of Fernández in the Constitutional Court would have been prioritized.

Ortiz also contributed screenshots in which Name sends him the agenda in which Fernández’s vote appears prioritized. She, in turn, forward it to the then candidate.
