Tolls have been one of the most problematic charges and have generated a series of controversies during the current government. The initial proposal of President Gustavo Petro, to freeze the charges, brought greater damage to the pocket of Colombians, that after a year they had to assume several increases.
Now, thousands of Colombians will have to assume a new rise that is coming this May 10, in three tolls that are key to those who reside in the city of Bogotá. This on behalf of a decision by the Ministry of Transportation, which prepares a gradual adjustment in toll rates.
From the aforementioned date the tolls of Andes will rise, located on the North Highway. Fusca toll will also be increased, located on the Central Highway of the North or Seventh and Unisabana race.
These increases obey a decision that the transport portfolio took in January, when an increase that generated discomfort in users was applied. This motivated the portfolio to freeze the increase for four months. This freezing ends on May 10.
-Despite this, it is important to keep in mind that the figure could be frozen again, since the date is not yet met and the national government has the opportunity to freeze the collection again.
However, this would be counterproductive for users, which could later face a greater charge.
It is also key to know that the rise in tolls will be done progressively until July 2027, with the aim of counteracting the economic impact that the different communities that make use of the road would have.
The increases that are expected for light automotive would be between $ 500 and $ 700, but this is an average price and not the officer presented by the authorities.
