If you are looking for a piece of history of Formula 1, the monkey that Max Verstappen wore during the 2023 Miami Grand Prize goes out to auction. The signed suit, which is probably impregnated with the single smell of sweat and the champagne two years ago, will be sold by F1 Authentics for the benefit of the charity associated with Red Bull, Wings for Life.
This nonprofit research foundation, created by the two -time champion of the Motocross world Heinz Kinigadner and the late founder of Red Bull Dietrich Mateschitz, aims to find a cure for medullary injuries.
“We are delighted to support our associated charity organization, Wings For Life, with this F1 Authentics auction of the Max race suit of his victory in the Miami GP in 2023,” said Christian Horner, head of Red Bull, in a statement.
“The research that Wings for Life finances is crucial to find a cure for spinal cord injury, so we are proud that 100% of the income of this auction is destined directly to that cause.”
Andrew Wagner, Ceo Wings For Life USA, said he thanked Verstappen for “making a difference and being a real champion, both in races and in life.”
The suit was used shortly after the Dutch won his second world title and embarked on a record season that ended his third world championship. 2023 was the most successful year for any F1 pilot in history, with Verstappen achieving 19 of 22 victories in large awards.
Fans and collectors can already bid for the signed monkey that Max Verstappen used in the Miami GP of 2023 in F1authentics.com. The auction will be open until May 6, 2025.
