The deaths of Emilia and Inés, on April 5, in northern Bogotá, was, in legal medicine discretion, a “homicide.” This follows from the chilling forensic report known exclusively per week. The girls were poisoned and the murderous ingredient is Talio, a dangerous metal that was added in a “intentional” way, the report concludes.
The forensic opinion was overwhelming and does not give space to assumptions. The girls ended up poisoned after consuming food in her friend’s apartment, after the school day. Thus, the invitation to spend an afternoon of friends became a tragedy. The Talio, without explanation, reached some “chocolate fruits” that the girls consumed.
Legal Medicine Sources confirmed to the week that the forensic opinion warns how, after toxicology analysis, it was concluded that the cause of death was acute poisoning by talium and for food consumption, which in practical terms translates as a poisoning and, consequently, a homicide.
“Based on the elements of judgment available so far, it is concluded that the cause of death was acute talium poisoning, in the context of food consumption (chocolate -bathed fruits) during a adolescents meeting … where all present developed symptomatology compatible with that poisoning,” the document said.
The evidence and the evidence collected by the forensic, according to legal medicine, point out that the talio was added “intentional” in chocolate raspberries that were in the fridge of the apartment and supplied, according to the statements, by an adult who was in the place. This conclusion strengthens the hypothesis that it was a homicide.
The legal medical report warns, according to the sources of the Institute, that the Talio is a “highly toxic, unusual and colorless” metal, which facilitated its use. The same consistency of the Talio allows to infer, under the criteria of the forensic, which was added in a form “Intentional in food” that were in the apartment and within reach of girls.

“The way of death corresponds to a homicide, since poisoning is very uncommon by such elements and particularly the talio is highly toxic, little volatile, colorless and toilet, so it is inferred that it was intentionally added to food (raspberries with chocolate),” reads the document.
Another chapter in the investigation, according to sources from the Prosecutor’s Office, seeks to establish whether the three girls and the young man, who were at that time in the apartment, were the objective of this murderous “plan” or, on the contrary, it was a fatal chance that the girls consumed the raspberries with chocolate.

The mission now is to find the person who had access to chocolate raspberries and contaminated them with the firm intention of causing damage, it is not known whether directly to girls who agreed to share an afternoon of friends.

The other two girls, Inés and Gabriela, remained in the intensive care unit. Two days later, Inés died and the tragedy grew, as the anguish of knowing with certainty what happened.
Week revealed that the substance in the body of the girls and that it caused a heart failure, It was Talio, a metal that is used for the manufacture of microchips, but that, a few years ago, was the fatal ingredient used in razides. The Talio was the cause of the death of the girls, there was no doubt, but at that time, the form and circumstances in which they reached their bodies was uncertain.
