The continuous advance of science and medicine has made, at least in the richest and most advanced countries, many diseases have gone into oblivion. Several of them have their own cure, mainly in the form of a vaccine.
However, although several ailments have disappeared, the development of the modern world and its constant competitiveness has been causing the appearance of others, related mainly to mental health.
Dr. Manuel Sans Segarra went to the ‘P Podcast’ program for an interview. At a given time, the presenter asked him about the possible causes of modern diseases.
Sans Segarra made reference to stress by saying that “it is demonstrated that a minute of intense stress causes a drop in the immune system that lasts 6 hours”, so it also affects physical health, and not only mental. It also causes “infections, autoimmune diseases and cancer.”
The cause that magnifies the severity of stress
To try to shed some light to the cause of the appearance of stress, Dr. Segarra was quite clear: “The fundamental cause of our society is the ego and stress that conditions the ego, with the vital dynamics that determines the ego.”
