The Council of Nursing Colleges of Castilla y León has requested that the labor welfare of nurses be guaranteed, suffering from injuries and diseases that increase psychological anguish and dissatisfaction in their jobs.
On the occasion of World Safety and Health Day at work, which is commemorated this Monday, April 28, the president of the institution, Enrique Ruiz Forner, has pointed out to “guarantee the health of nurses in their jobs” as “one of the challenges”, since the well -being of health professionals also moves “positively” to patients, their families and all people who form the health communities. “
Occupational health, as indicated by the World Health Organization (WHO), consists of “having complete physical, mental and social well -being, in addition to the absence of diseases”, so that human capital becomes the “main value” in the work environment and is the “essential piece” to achieve high levels of “quality and productivity”, said Ruiz Forner.
-In this sense, the Council of Nursing Colleges of Castilla y León has urged the national agencies competent in Health and the Junta de Castilla y León to implement “all the necessary measures to safeguard the health and well -being of nurses and nurses.”
On the other hand, in relation to work nursing, the institution has indicated that it is one of the seven nursing specialties and stressed that its professionals have the “role of ensuring the health of workers, from an integral perspective, applying specialized professional care aimed at the promotion of health and the prevention of the disease in relation to the occupational risks to which they are exposed.”
In addition to the surveillance of the individual health of the workers, the labor nursing values the influence of the occupational risks to which the workers in their health are exposed and monitors the different health states that a person who can influence the development of the activity can present, as well as help them in their adaptation to the work environment.
In this context, Ruiz Forner has claimed that the work nursing places increase so that these professionals are present in all health centers and has demanded that the faculties and schools integrate the specialty within their curricula.
