Colombia | Procuraduría demands urgent responses for the disappearance of a young medical student in Cartagena

The disappearance of Tatiana Hernández, a young medical student in Cartagena, has lit the alarms of the authorities and moved to a whole city that claims for her speedy appearance. Given the growing concern, the Attorney General’s Office has formally requested an exhaustive report on the actions carried out by the District Mayor’s Office and the Metropolitan Police to clarify its whereabouts.

Tatiana was last seen last Sunday, April 13 in the spur in front of the Marina Park, in the traditional Bocagrande sector. Since then, his absence has left a deep vacuum among his loved ones and has unleashed a social mobilization that demands clear responses and immediate results.

Within the framework of a preventive action, the Provincial Attorney for Cartagena required Mayor Dumek Turbay a detailed report of the measures taken from the moment the disappearance was reported. The entity seeks to permanently accompany search efforts, ensuring that each step taken is guided by urgency, respect for human rights and the effectiveness of institutional actions. In addition to the information on the search strategies, the Public Ministry requested a balance on the measures of psychological, legal and social support that are being provided to the young woman’s family, who face moments of deep anguish and despair. For them, every day without news of Tatiana is an open wound that demands to be treated with sensitivity and real commitment.

The same communication was addressed to the commander of the Metropolitan Police of Cartagena, Colonel Gélver Peña, with the purpose of coordinating an articulated response between civil and police authorities. The Public Ministry emphasized the need to maintain all possible assets, without rest, until they locate Tatiana and provide tranquility to his family and citizens.

The disappearance of Tatiana Hernández not only represents a personal drama, but also a challenge for local institutions, called to act with speed and transparency.
