The otolaryngologist Guillermo Riolocharged with bad praxis and “guilty homicide” in the case that investigates the death of the 3 -year -old Child Facundo Barrios and whose registration is suspended in Entre Ríos, would be exercising the profession in the province of Chubut, according to the family of the deceased child.
Facundo, who entered on September 19 to the Bovril Sun Clinic for routine surgical intervention, died six days later, on September 25, in the Sanatorio del Niño de Paraná. The death of the child generated shock and opened an investigation by the Fiscal Unit of La Paz.
The case
The Peace Prosecutor Facundo Barbosa confirmed that two complaints against Riolo are processed for surgical interventions, both made on the same day at the Bovril Sun Clinic. In addition to Barrios, another 9 -year -old boy suffered complications after an tonsil operation and ended up hospitalized at the San Roque Hospital in Paraná. The mother explained that he was given the sleeping boy, bleeding and that Riolo said “if your baby tolerates the water and jelly Andate,” and left.
On the other hand, lawyer Corina Beisel made public another complaint of a 35 -year -old man: “She was left with her disfigured face and lost the ability to swallow, breathe and speak normally.”
According to the uncle of Facundo Barrios, during the operation “the doctor pierced the carotid and that caused him the loss of a lot of blood. That is why a surgeon caulted his vein and also made blood transfusions.”
Riolo “arrived late, he had a fast of hours and operated him badly.
In addition, he said the doctor “charged them 200 extra dollars for the operation, although the child had two social works that had to cover the expenses.”

Enabled in Chubut
One agreed to the Federal Network of Registries of Health Professionals of the Integrated System of Argentine Health Information. There, Riolo appears with registration 5692 “enabled in Chubut”, under the category of otolaryngology.
Lorena Garay, aunt of the deceased child, recalled that “two weeks ago” an anonymous person communicated with the family and said that Riolo “is working in the south.”
“We start doing the inquiries in this regard, there are some national organizations with which one can consult whether a doctor is enabled, if it has a registration. There is a permanent modus operandi from justice and doctors that is this to cover, hide and dilate the judgments. There is an NGO that works on these issues, we contacted these people and we have the confirmation that at least it is enrolled to exercise medicine in Chubut,” he said to radio The voice.
The lawyers “are committed to finding out these issues and making the corresponding presentations in justice: this makes us think that he moved, that he changed his home and that is based in Chubut because he effectively has enabled the enrollment there.”
