In Bugalagrande, Valle del Cauca, a story was born that would eventually become synonym for resilience, science and service. Victoria Escalante’s childhood was marked by scarcity, but also by the love of her aunt and grandmother, her maternal figures, which taught her the values that today define her life, purpose and profession.
Growing overcoming challenges forged the character with which he has faced the most complex evidence of his life. Today, Victoria is a scientific director of VAE Medicine, an institution that serves more than 1,200 patients per month with a model of care -based care, cell regeneration and precision nutrition.
From patient to leader in precision medicine
VAE’s story did not begin as a planned entrepreneurship, but as a natural consequence of Victoria’s personal transformation. Years ago, he worked in a security company of his property to keep his children as a single mother, until his health collapsed. It was diagnosed with Lupus and, in a desperate attempt to lose weight, ended with a renal failure caused by poorly oriented treatment
“It weighed 114 kilos. Lupus did not kill me, but the consequences of poorly treated obesity almost,” he recalls. It was then that he decided to look for responses outside conventional medicine. In Havana, Cuba, he found a different approach, biological and orthomolecular medicine and nutrigenic and nutrigenomics. Not only did he recover his health, but discovered a vocation.
“They told me, while your body is inflamed, no treatment will work. I started taking care of my nutrition and six months was another person.”
Her formation led her to become an expert in biological and orthomolecular medicine, biological decoding and functional nutrition. With the knowledge acquired, he began to help others from the security office at the work of his private security company, which began as an advice to very few people, became an unstoppable demand. Thus was born the IPS VAE Medicine and Integral Welfare.
VAE, Private Medicine, Public Heart

Today, IPS VAE has headquarters in Bogotá, Barranquilla, Cali, Mexico and patients in remote treatment from different countries of the world, who only with nutrition change their lifestyle and improve their health, the distinctive of its model is that, although it works with its own resources, it has a powerful social mission, subsidizing treatments to patients in vulnerable conditions without state support.
Of the 1,200 monthly patients, many are treated at no cost thanks to what those who access the private service, such as public characters and celebrities. Many of the patients who receive social care are oncological patients, women with metabolic diseases and people with autoimmune conditions.
“I decided not to have agreements with EPS or prepaid medicine. Thus we guarantee quality and allocate resources directly to those who need it most,” explains Escalante.
The doctor emphasizes that he does not live from the business: “My salary in VAE is like that of any professional. And the expenses of my life are covered by the family security company. Thus, Vae can be maintained with purpose.”
In addition, a subject nothing less is that in VAE medicine and integral well -being the entire collaboration plant are women’s head of home, and this is not fortuitous, but that it is done because Dr. Escalante remembers that she had capitalized difficulties with the care of her children, and she feels that betting on this is a way of thanking God, and of providing help to women who need it.
Baby Vae, the hope that is born of integral care
One of the most innovative IPS programs is Baby VAE, a protocol for women with reproductive difficulties such as endometriosis, SOP or failures in assisted fertilizers. The approach is not clinical or invasive, but of deep preparation of the organism.
“We do nothing different than preparing the body to receive and feed what makes life possible,” he explains. To date, more than 190 babies have been born thanks to the accompaniment of the VAE team, including recognized characters from the national show who have managed to be mothers.
The protocol includes hormonal balance, detoxification of the organism and strengthening of the reproductive system through functional nutrition. “When the body has an inadequate immune response or is weak, neither natural or assisted fertilization works well. We prepare the terrain,” he adds.
Integrative medicine, an response to the saturated health system
The VAE integrative medicine model responds to a reality, the Colombian health system does not meet the demand for preventive or personalized care. Diseases such as obesity, cancer or autoimmune conditions require more than 10 -minute consultations and generic diets, which can be counterproductive without adequate support.
“A patient with obesity can do bariatric surgery, but if he does not change his relationship with food, the intervention only makes sense. The stomach is operated, but the habit does not. Obesity returns,” says the doctor.
In VAE, the treatment is not limited to the physical. It is accompanied from the emotional, the mental and the educational. “We say that each patient enters a university. If he does not study, he does not approve. The discipline and knowledge of the body are part of the cure.”
Discipline, family and vision in the future
Victoria is the mother of three children, and explains that the balance between her role as a doctor, businesswoman and mother has been possible, she says, thanks to discipline and love. “My children know that Vae is my fourth child. But they also know that they are the love of my soul. There is time for everything if it is organized with purpose,” he says.
His day begins before dawn and can end at dawn. Even so, take time to train, write columns, investigate, and study; In fact, he currently attends a master’s degree in semi -creenial precision nutrition in Harvard, and is certified by Harvard in the elaboration of sustained nutritional plans.
“One day without attending patients I need. Seeing someone healing more than anything.”
With increasingly marked presence in Mexico and plans to open operation in Europe, Victoria Escalante not only wants to expand its scope, but also plan your retirement. “At 60 I want to live quietly. I don’t want to spend my life looking for my life. I want to collect in life what I have sown,” he says.
Already studies Italian doctor and visualizes the coming years as a stage of professional expansion. “I will attend some patients, because it is part of my essence. But I want to rest with the satisfaction of having given the best.”
Each patient, a story

What differentiates VAE is not only his therapeutic approach, but his vision of the patient as a complete human being. Each consultation is a story that is written with dedication. It is a legacy under construction. One that is born of science, empathy and conviction that health is also an act of love.
“We do not only transform bodies. We transform whole families. Our name is written in the book of life of each person we attend. And that is the most powerful thing that exists,” concludes Dr. Victoria Escalante.
