On the afternoon of May 4, 2025, a vehicular fire was recorded on the Mexico-Toluca highway, at kilometer 38. The incident took place in the La Marquesa neighborhood, in the municipality of Ocoyoacac, State of Mexico. The authorities reported that the fire seriously affected the circulation in the direction of Mexico City, generating a road block of more than five kilometers.
The incident
A truck that circulated in the fast track began to catch fire for reasons not yet determined. The vehicle burned in flames in the section between Constituents and Lerma. The rapid intervention of emergency bodies allowed to quell the fire, although the flames caused significant damage to the vehicle and potential risk for other drivers.

Firefighters and Civil Protection of the State of Mexico immediately went to the site of the incident. According to the report of the Control, Command, Communication, Computing and Quality Center (C5), the Secretary of Security of the State of Mexico coordinated the intermittent closure of the circulation to allow the maneuvers of extinction and removal of the vehicle.

The incident caused a bottling of more than five kilometers in the direction of Mexico City. The slow traffic began from the point of the fire and extended to several surrounding areas. Some motorists reported in social networks delay greater than 45 minutes.

The authorities recommended avoiding the area and looking for alternate routes such as the Toluca-La Marquesa free road. Drivers were also requested to remain calm and follow the indications of the transit personnel present in the area.
