“This is your first leading as such.” Tell us about your character, how did you develop it and what did it mean to do it?
Kat: “Carola is the leading character of this story, of Bitter goldwhich is a thriller full of suspense that tells the story of this single -parent family, my Pacific father (Melo) and I work in the Atacama desert and work in the small artisanal mining. They exploit a copper mine where they find a gold vein that is the light to have a better future, give a better possibility of life to their daughter, but this is co -fled, this illusion of a better life by other characters who appear later in this story that will generate conflicts of ambition.
This movie has a lot of that, much of what are the dreams of each character. They are very different too. And nothing, for me to have played a teenage girl in the middle of a world governed by men, under the rules of men, it was a very complicated personal and acting challenge. I had to take it with fed responsibility, study fed up, mentalize for what I was going to do, record in the desert.
We had a full month with the team there in Copiapó, we were in the towns of Caldera, there Cerquita and in reality it is very much appreciated that the team has been competitive and we have been as navigating to the same place so that we could reach this final product. ”
Actor Moises Angulo, on the other hand, plays Vladimiro a stubborn and ambitious miner who will do everything possible so that Carola does not take care of the work that, according to him, should be led only by men.
“What did you think of this antagonist?”
Moises: “Well, it was a very attractive process because as the kat said, the whole challenge of being in the desert, also taking care of the trade of being a miner, which luckily had Don Aníbal as a partner, which is also one of the protagonists there of the film that works in that mine where we recorded, and therefore, he could advise us and help so that we could be up there.
And for me, well, being the antagonist I think is one of the most attractive pights that touch us, at least from my point of view, in this case prevent, say, that Carola and that a girl, a woman takes care of a mine because clearly that for the history of mining is like something that gives us bad luck, therefore, he was opposing with all her strength to take care of the pique.
Vladimiro also believed that this place corresponded to him, he wants to be the leader of this group for a long time and this was an opportunity, in the absence of Pacific, fixing them with Carola of being able to take power, so there is interesting the fight with Carola, how she also manages to overcome the difficulties that Vladimiro puts and that the other miners put on him, then he makes the film very entertaining, very full of suspense.

“Did you live any anecdote between scenes?” Something that can be counted there?
Kat: “Well, that is, for me in the beginning to end, this was crazy. We lived many things together, as I tell you, we were a full month living as if we were a squad. I felt that we were miners, in the morning we got up early, we started our workday, we had together, what I know, a word here, another word there, and then to work again.
A little cinema works like this too, I think there is a very similar similarity with the mining world that absorbs you, as time begins to spend in another time, right? Entering another dimension, and for us the fact of having to be recording underground in a real mine, where anything could happen, that is, there could be a tremor and we were there at 400 meters underground, imagine, as the chances of being locked were very high, but we were so absorbed, so, so involved in our, that nothing, we were just having a good time within how breathe.
Then, the adventures of being rolling in the desert gave us, I believe that one of the best experiences and anecdotes, as well, get to shower and get kilos and kilos of dust. I said: ‘Never in my life had shower me as many times as in that filming.’ And that had already been in the desert before with Purchasing (Chilean series available in Prime Video) ”.
Moises: “Well, also because one is not so accustomed just, but yes, he had his demand and also, as the kat says, of being very early in the morning inside a mine. As one is not accustomed, we must also adapt, we have to not know, adapt to breathing, apart from handling the tools, it requires a special force, but at the same time it was a challenge that made us very attractive to work and that made us want to act. sides too, effort and enjoyment. ”
“What are people going to stay when you see this new production?”
Kat: “We presented this film at the Ñuble Festival, in January, and people went out with so many desire to talk about the film, so full of emotions. I believe that each person will go through this movie in some way, from what I know, the story, from a character, from the landscape itself.
I feel that this is how beautiful the cinema has, that one does a job very from anonymity, as one delivers and exposes, but then there it remains, because the person knows what affected him, do you understand me?
So the only thing I can say or wait is that people are going to get excited, it will be affected in some way. , It does not matter, the important thing is that he goes to the cinema, that he is there in the armchair, that is delivered to the experience of being able to watch Chilean cinema of this quality, because I really of the six, seven times that I have already seen the movie, I arrive exciting myself in the same way as if it were the first time. So, I just want to leave the audience invited to us, that they will finish completing this experience. ”

Moises: “I would like to say that Kat’s work is very beautiful in the film, I think there is a protagonist, say, that he manages to make his emotional transit in a very nice way that makes one identify and accompany the film, also want to support the character a bit as not as complicated as the film puts it on, then I think people are going to get excited.
There is also a lot of photography work, all the work of the art set that the film has to enjoy greatly in the cinema, these great landscapes, the aesthetic experience makes it very particular. I think you have to take that opportunity and it is full of talent, there is a lot of partner and colleague actor who is doing its job very well, I think that in that sense the production has quality areas in all areas. Therefore, for me, at least, I think this movie is going to do very well to Chilean cinema. ”
