Two voices, two perspectives, a conversation about creativity, challenges and a dream in common. This summarizes the spirit of the interview with Mimi (main voice) and Pedro (voice, keyboardist and composer), who together with Raúl (bassist), Jorge Balado (drums) and Jorge Ruiz (guitar) make up the current alignment of the Rocker .

The conversation travels between personal anecdotes and deep reflections, showing the essence of each member and the link that connects them as a , where shared are the engine that drives them.

Question: Where was your love for music?

M: Since childhood! In my there were always very rigid norms, because I come from a religion very different from the one that predominates in Spain. I remember that my love for music woke up I opened the door of my room and, in the background, it sounded Operation Triunfo. They did not let me see it, but I managed to lower the stairs in silence and watch the TV hidden. That marked me.

Q: In my case, it all started many years ago, when my little brother was two years old and gave him a toy piano. I started to struggle and discovered that I could play songs that I listened to, which led me to buy better keyboards and, later, I learned to play the guitar. On the other hand, I always liked writing stories for children, and one day I discovered that I could unite those stories with music. Thus my passion was born to compose, drinking from my personal experiences and memories.

Q: How did the Wallace Memorable Project arise?

M: I had been withdrawn from music for personal reasons for a while. I had worked in orchestras, and television, but I am emotionally felt . One day, my friend Pili, who worked at the Alcorcón Center with Jorge Balado, told me that he, drummer of the group, was looking for a for the group. At , I doubted a lot, I could insecurity. However, the stage is the only place where I really feel myself. I did the test and, although I was very nervous, I knew that if they saw me I would love them because my true essence comes out there. Personally, I feel that we are the perfect team, we complement each other and there is a vibes that is pure vitamin.

Q: In my case, it all started more than 11 years ago, when I lived in Mallorca. There I played in different events, but when I returned to , for a while, I left the music. A friend encouraged me to form a group, which began without great expectations. Over , Jorge Balado, whom I met through the former singer of the group, and was the one who really promoted the project. The group was changing members for personal and reasons, but always with the idea of enjoying music. The commitment and passion of who we are now has allowed us to move forward and consolidate as a band.

I feel that we are the perfect team, we complement each other and there is a vibes that is pure vitamin

Q: How was the process of your first album from a perspective or look external to the band?

M: What to tell you, as easy as complicated. Coordinating everyone is difficult because none live from music to one hundred percent so you have to combine essays and recordings with our work. Even so, it was very : in my case I recorded eight songs in one day, I had incredible energy.

Q: It has been a very long process: ten years for a first album! (laughs). But now the others are . The most difficult thing has been to find the right, committed and eager to continue. As this is a hobby For most, people come and go according to their personal circumstances. The important thing is that there is now a team that rows in the same direction and enjoys the process, without obsessing with fame, and valuing every step we take together.

M: Enjoy the process despite the difficulties is still the key.

Q: What does this album suppose for you?

Q: This album is a personal and milestone. It is the of years of effort, to overcome obstacles without losing the illusion. Beyond recognition, the important thing is to enjoy the way and continue sharing stories and emotions through music.

What excites me most is that people feel music as if it were his, and I think we are achieving it with this album. Jorge Balado composed his song, ‘My star’. It is beautiful. We all get involved in that subject.

M: I would say that it is the closure of one stage and the beginning of another. I am fulfilled dreams like playing at the Riviera or presenting the album in the TAF Sala, where artists like Shakira have rehearsed. They are small achievements that for others may seem insignificant, but for me touching in the same places as my idols, stepping on that same floor, means a lot.

Q: What I like most is that music is not mine, of anyone, but they all feel it as their own and touch it as if they were to defend something that belongs to them: that is something we have achieved among all. The bassist, for example, Raúl, takes very little time, but it is the culmination of something we were looking for for a long time and now we come true. It is so beautiful that it allows us to close this year with this album and start with the album next year.

Q: How many songs do you have? Can you tell me a little on the most conceptual side, say, discursive of your verses?

-

P: Two suns, a dawn He has ten chosen themes among a broader repertoire. And two soundtracks, `Journey to a new ‘and` 1890´, which are recorded from live video -LVE LIVE- What we did some time ago. I can have about 100 songs written. I am in a very prolific stage. I write and compose music but, when I get to the premises and present it, Jorge Ruiz (guitar) chords and sounds incredible. To listen to your topic to listen to your topic with the influences of each member you say “Fuck, how does it improve, right?”

There have been musicians interested in some of the songs I have composed, but the Wallace They are priority. The music that they like is for the band and for life lovers.

Q: Is the group to face your works in a different way?

M: The group motivates me a lot because, although my main work is nursing assistant, music gives me energy. The schedules are complicated, but it is very worth it.

Q: Having the group makes me very flexible and empathetic. I am lucky to have a very comfortable schedule. If any partner arrives tired after working 12 hours and still rehearses at ten o’clock at night, I also want to do my best. Going to the place reloads my batteries, I my mood.

We are not obsessed with fame, we enjoy the process and every step we take together in the same direction

Q: Do you use music to talk about you? How?

M: Yes, many songs that make up the I feel that they talk about me, of our insecurities and doubts. There is a concrete of Pedro, `inner , which represents me completely. It is the best that I have done vocally speaking.

Q: For my part, I talk about moments and experiences that I have had, Mimi always tells me that `inner fire ‘loves because she feels identified. It is special because it reflects universal feelings that we all share, such as vulnerability or contradiction. The letters connect with their own and others experiences, I think that makes people identify.

Q: How is the creation process currently?

M: At first Pedro composed most of themes, but now we all participate more. The Jorges and Raúl are bringing new songs. The process is increasingly common, all collaborating in letters and chords. We could say that it is a joint creation.

Q: We have many compound issues. They will be for future albums. This year there will be surprises, but the songs of the next will be the ones we are starting to create now.

Q: You are going to play in the Riviera, what does this mean for you?

M: It is the final phase of the contest Stay Alive Fest For emerging bands. We play here the 16 finalists of the more than 416 bands registered between Madrid and . We are very excited because on June 1 we will act in front of many people. There will be managers and a jury whose name we will know shortly before the event, which will be in charge of choosing the three winners. Although more than winning, the important thing is visibility.

We will play two issues, but we have not yet decided which ones. I would love that one was ‘inner fire’ because live has a special energy.

Music reflects universal feelings that we have all shared, such as vulnerability, and that makes people identify

Q: Finally, you invite your audience to join this experience, where music becomes a bridge to share dreams, overcome challenges and continue creating together

Q: That’s right. We present the album on May 17 at 9:30 p.m. in the TAF room, it is between Móstoles and Arroyomolinos. The challenges are part of growth and sharing the way makes it more enriching.

M: We are very excited and there will be many surprises. Beyond success, the important thing is to enjoy each step. The passion for what we do is what unites us. Music is much more than a hobby: it is a shelter, a form of expression and a shared trip. Melable Wallace is the reflection of all this.
