The Xunta council authorized on Monday the tender for non -urgent sanitary transport services of the Health Area of Vigo for an amount of 11,746,512 euros and an initial duration of one year.
Through this file, in which a possible extension of the contract for another 12 months is expected with an estimated value, in this case, of 23.4 million euros, the Xunta guarantees this assistance benefit to the more than 568,000 people residing in the health area of Vigo.
The Galician Executive increased by 39% the budget for a contract that Includes scheduled transfers of this area with the objective that patients can receive assistance (consultations, treatments, priests or tests).
-Likewise, unchanging transfers, interhospital type and transport to Galician health centers of user centers of socio -health centers are also included.
The budget increase of this new tender responds to the need to meet the new agreements defined in the collective agreement Gallego of health transport of patients and injured in ambulance, to the increase in personnel costs, to the items for vehicles, the improvements of adaptation of infrastructure and the rise in fuel costs.
The Department of Health emphasizes that it works on the “continuous improvement of the quality of care in the community”, through the renewal and improvement of sanitary infrastructure, the increase in templates or with the expansion of the portfolio of health services that are provided to the population.
